The didgeridoo - a traditional wind instrument of the Australian aboriginal people - might just help your lung function.
Australian scientists studied a group of 10 aboriginal boys over a six month period. Each boy had weekly didgeridoo lessons. The study found that regularly playing this traditional instrument improved both breathing and overall health.
Dr Robert Eley, a researcher on the study, hypothesized that “deep and circular breathing” could be the reason for the health benefits.
The study was published in the Journal of Rural Health.
