If you thought that the only way to get allergy shots against grass allergens was in your arm, think again.

Alk-Abello, a company out of Denmark, has developed a product called GRAZAX®. Grazax is a once daily allergy “vaccination” tablet: the principle is the same as other immunotherapy approaches, but there is no needle.

Alk-Abello is the first company to introduce immunotherapy treatments based on tablets.

Grazax is now commercially available to patients across Europe. Consumers will have to wait in the US; the product has not yet been approved.

Keep in mind that any immunotherapy must be started well in advance of when your allergy season starts.
