If you have allergies and depend on Benadryl for your symptom control, take note: certain lots of Benadryl have been recalled by manufacturer Johnson and Johnson.

The company has stated that the recall is due to customer complaints of a moldy, musty or mildew odor to the product. Apparently, some customers have reacted with gastrointestinal distress, including nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea.

Johnson and Johnson has been criticized previously for similar complaints regarding Tylenol caplets almost 2 years ago.

A company spokesperson is blaming packaging materials for the smell. However, Johnson and Johnson is working with the FDA to investigate.

To find out if your Benadryl lot has been recalled, check the Johnson and Johnson website.
