There’s more and more technology to help you to manage your seasonal allergies. The latest addition is the iPhone application, Pollen Radar.
Pollen Radar makes use of the Japanese Weather Association and their Weather API, which means that a Japanese user can have the latest pollen count available on an iPhone. The application costs just 115 yen or $1.25 US.
However, it won’t help you if you live outside of Japan.
For US allergy sufferers, you can get a pollen count app through the iTunes store called Pollen. It will give you a pollen count based on your zip code – as well as a prediction of whether counts are going to get better or worse. This little app also lets you track your own symptoms in relation to pollen counts and pollen type so that you develop a clearer picture of your allergies over time. The trick here is that the app tells you the primary pollen in the air – which means you have help identifying what pollens you are allergic to.
The Pollen app is just $2.99 US. You don’t have to enter your name or any personal information to use it and the data seems to be stored locally on your phone.
